Messengers on Cycles – The charity cycling ride 2016 & 2017
Messenger on cycles is the charity event with the participation of more than 5 lakhs children and adults with deafblindness in India. It has been organized by Sense International India and Blind Peoples’ Association from 2016 to every year in which over 300 plus cyclists and people with disabilities ride bicycles and tricycles to celebrate Helen Keller week and raise awareness for a noble cause – “Deafblindness”. HFRI supported consecutively 2 years with their vigorous participation in raising funds and for the betterment of deafblindness people in association with BPA and Sense international India. The charity ride was participated by parents and children over 12 years for 12km route on bicycles and 4km route on tricycles. These organizations have been tirelessly working to improve the lives of the blind and disabled people by providing them better education, employment and make them stand on their feet. Dr. Nitin Sumant Shah, Chairman of Heart Foundation and Research Institute & Nitin Charitable Trust is always ready to support them and for this great work, he has been awarded Certificate of appreciation for supporting messengers on cycles -A Charity Ride for the inclusion of children and adults with deafblindness on 26th June 2016 & 25th June 2017 respectively.
